Stevie Set for Pirelli Challenge

April 2009

Stevie Brown and Andrew Roughead will travel to round 3 of the Kick Energy Fiesta Sport Trophy series, the Pirelli Rally, with the aim of setting their season campaign back on track.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Lake District, the Millers Oils supported Ford Fiesta driver says he is looking forward to the event. "We've had a few problems at the beginning of the season, but we've worked hard to try and make sure they don't happen again. I'm concentrating on having a good solid performance on the Pirelli, the stages are nice and we will be looking to get into an early rhythm with the car and notes."

The event which also forms part of the British Rally Championship will see crews tackle the daunting Keilder forest complex, nicknamed killer Keilder due to its unforgiving nature. "The speeds in Keilder are very high, and because the ditches are so big and close to the road, if you make even the smallest of errors they suck you in" explained Stevie.

The Five Mile Garage supported team will also have to contend with tackling the first two stages of the rally in darkness, as the event is set into motion on Friday evening. "This will be the first time I've driven on gravel in the dark" said Stevie.

The Global Web backed driver continues, "It's more difficult for sure as the lights create shadows and when your sliding you can't see out of the side windows."

One of the most demanding rallies in the British rallying calendar lies ahead for Brown and Roughead. With over 50 miles of gravel forest stages, they will launch their attack to climb back up the ranks.
