Brown in Centre Stage for Scottish Event

June 2009

The RSAC Scottish Rally (June 27th) will mark round four of the Kick Energy Fiesta Sport Trophy, as the countries most exciting rally drivers gather for the event based on the Scottish Borders. Ellon driver Stevie Brown will be joined by stand-in co-driver Michelle Falconer , but says the new partnership shouldn't affect his charge for a podium finish. "Michelle has done a lot of rallies, and has sat with lots of different drivers. It might take us a mile or two just to get into the swing of things, but from there we should be fine."

The Global Web supported team driver will form part of the pre-event forum line up, on Thursday evening in the event's base in Dumfries. There will also be a chance for rally fans to win a ride with Stevie on the shakedown stage on Friday morning. "I enjoy doing the media bit before events as it's a chance to showcase my sponsors and the sport" said Brown.

It has been two years since Stevie last tackled the tricky Scottish Rally stages, and the Millers Oils backed driver recalls it didn't exactly go to plan. "We had a faulty gearbox for the first half of the event and then on the final stage we had suspension failure which caused us to retire from the event. So I still need to make friends with this rally!"

With this weekend's event being the only Scottish round of the Kick Energy Fiesta Sport Trophy, it effectively forms Stevie's home rally in the Championship. "For sure the competition will be tough as it always is. You really have to be flat out if you want to win. A home win would be the dream result" explained the Five Mile Garage supported driver.

With the RSAC Scottish Rally forming round five of the Hankook Scottish Rally Championship, the Ford Fiesta ST crew of Brown and Falconer will be aiming for a double points score in the Kick Energy Fiesta Sport Trophy and the Scottish national series. "Realistically top junior and a class win is what we will be aiming for in terms of the Scottish Rally Championship" said the LAD Marketing backed driver.
