BLOG: Rally of Scotland

November 2009

It's been a while since I wrote my last blog, and even though the season has ended we're still flat out working on things for next year. We've just launched a few new features on the website and there's still more to come, so watch this space!

Last week we launched the Team Magazine, Drivexs, which you can check out here, thanks to everyone who contributed, and we're looking for more feature writers, if you would like to write something let us know!

We're now focused on putting a winning package together for the 2010 season. With us stepping up to a four wheel drive Subaru Impreza, it promises to be one of the most exciting yet.

Last week I was at the final round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, the Rally of Scotland. The S2000 cars are fantastic and I would love to drive one soon. For me the most impressive drive of the rally was Kris Meeke, he was always centimetre perfect and was able to set some amazing times. It was good to see Guy Wilks out in the Skoda too. His style of driving is totally different to Kris's, he doesn't slide the car as much and his style is very similar to John Haugland's.

I enjoy spectating on events (not as much as actually competing through!) as it gives me the opportunity to see how everyone else does things, because it's important to never stop learning.

S2000 cars certainly look to be the future of the sport, they have a theatrical element to them much like the old group B cars did, something the current World cars are sadly missing.

The rest of the off-season will be spent securing the budget for next year, improving fitness and practice writing pacenotes, so there's not going to be much time to rest!
