July Blog

July 2010

Since my last blog World Cup fever has gripped the planet, Sebastian Ogier has proven he's one of the few drivers in the world that can beat his name sake Loeb, Mark Webber has been taking flying lessons and Valentino Rossi broke his leg. It's been a whirl wind month of victories, scandals and crashes on the world sporting stage.

My month has been less like a pantomime of hero's and villains and more like a glacier. With 90% of its mass beneath the surface, we've been busy behind the scenes working to secure new partners and a new chariot. Although our last rally was in April on the Granite City Rally, I've been keeping match fit by practicing writing pacenotes, karting, mountain biking and trips to the gym.

We are pushing very hard to get a deal together to compete on selected rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, and are planning on being out for the RSAC Rally of Scotland in October. In the mean time it's important to remain match fit, this is where the pacenote practice comes in and the regular trips to the gym.

My personal trainer Jamie has introduced me to kettle bell training and if, like me, you had never heard of the contraptions I can highly recommend them. Think a bizarre cocktail of yoga, Morris dancing and weight lifting and your half way there.

As early as next month I could be on the silver screen with a feature film of the work I've been doing with local children's charity Cash for Kids. We had a film crew following us on the Granite City Rally earlier this year, and since then the producers have been hard at work in the studio making the final cuts. It's been great being involved with such a worth while cause, and if we can raise enough money to change just one life then it will be worth all of the effort. I'll keep you updated with this as we find out more.

So that about it for the moment, feel free to drop me a line at info@steviebrown.co.uk and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Cheers,

Stevie
